Happy Pastures? How True is That?

This article is by Cody Wyman 11 years old, Tree Hugger, Animal Lover (+ my spunky little son!) This is seriously a proud mama moment for me.  He wrote this as a school assignment and it was 100% his idea to choose this topic.  I was previously vegetarian because of the conditions most animals are raised in and once I started to get to know some of our local farmers and how animals really should be raised, we slowly started to incorporate the occasional animal product back in our home.  Our research is what has made my kiddo so knowledgeable and passionate about this topic.  Do you think your dinner is actually healthy and happy?  Let’s say you are getting ready to eat a big hamburger for dinner and it’s made from a company you don’t know very much about.  Do you stop to think about how healthy your food is and how the animal was raised and treated before eating it? Most people don’t stop to think what’s in their food, how healthy it is or how it was raised.  When eating at most fast food chains the quality is very bad and not very healthy at all.  This is because of what the cows are fed, like corn instead of grass as they are intended to eat.  Cows cannot digest the corn very well.  Plus it fattens the cows up really fast and cheap which is why they are fed corn instead of grass.  The corn can make the cows very sick and the cows are given high doses of antibiotics to deal with the sickness and...
