Sunshine and safe skin (my favorite sunscreen)

Summer is in full swing here!  In fact, today is the first day of summer. I spent my day out in the sun with my friend, Rachel, one of my favorite mountain biking buddies and dear friends.  The sun was definitely beating down on us as we were on a fully sun exposed trial. So, here is my bad skin care story.   I’ve been blessed with the kind of skin that might get red one day but it is tan shortly after. My hair turns a lovely sun bleached blonde with enough exposure.   My husband on the other hand turns red, blisters, peels and starts the whole process over again.  He’s been on my case for years to wear sunscreen.   I fully understand that while I don’t get painful and peeling sunburns like him that I should protect my skin but I’ve been gambling on sun exposure health risk VS. chemical laden sunscreens on my skin.  I would hate to use one of those skin damage photos of my skin because I’m sure there is damage I can’t see.  With my love of outdoor fitness like cycling, hiking and backpacking, I really need to take better care of my skin. I’ve you been a sun worshipper like me but know you could do better for your skin, you’re in luck.   At my husband’s plea I stopped at Whole Foods (post ride) to check out all their sunscreen options so that I could protect my skin on my next ride.  I stopped there because like every good health coach/nutritionist, I knew I could grab a good lunch...
